SJS faculty since 2007:
Mrs. Ballou is a long-time friend of Catholic education. She grew up in
the diocesan schools (St. Philomena Elementary School and Sacred Heart
High School). She gives much credit to her formation in the Catholic
school system, and when it came time to send her own children to
school, she continued the parochial tradition, choosing St. James. As
her children reached school age and she had the opportunity to further
her own education, she chose LaRoche College. She graduated in May 2007
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Prior to
joining the St. James faculty on a full-time basis, she worked as a
substitute teacher, and she worked at the Wooden Ladder Preschool in
Ben Avon both as a sub and with their Friday "mother's morning out"
program.
Mrs. Natalie Bulera - Secondary/Middle School Science
Mrs. Bulera earned a Dual Bachelor of Science Degree: Geology/Earth Science and Environmental Science from Edinboro University. She worked as Recycling Coordinator for Erie County, PA. and with Pennsylvania Department of Education to produce curriculum guides and CD-ROMs promoting fundamental environmental concepts for the classroom. She is a Regional Judge for the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) and Registered Environmental Scientist, served as President of the Lake Erie Chapter of the Sierra Club, Chair of the Erie County Environmental Coalition and the Erie Earth Day Group.
Mrs. Bulera worked as Executive Director of the Center for Great Lakes Environmental Education in Buffalo, NY. She secured long-distance learning grants to link Buffalo Schools to locales nationwide to promote science education. Mrs. Bulera pursued her Masters of Science/Secondary Education Degree from Canisius College.
Her classroom experience includes Earth Space Science, Honors Biology and Anatomy and Physiology with certification in General Science (Life Science/Physical Science), Earth Space Science and Environmental Education (K-12). She is married and has two children, who currently attend St. James. As a member of St. James Parish and graduate of Meryhurst Preparatory High School and St. Peter Cathedral Elementary School, Mrs. Bulera believes strongly in Catholic Education and the foundation it provides and looks forward to upholding the values and reputation. of St. James School,

SJS faculty since 2001:
Mrs. Durkosh received her BS degree and certification in Teaching of
the Hearing Impaired from the Pennsylvania State University. She taught
several years in this specialty field at the Western PA School for the
Deaf and the Beaver County Intermediate Unit, and she was active in the
Special Olympics.
After raising her three daughters (who are
graduates from Saint James), she attended Point Park University and
received her Elementary Education Teaching Certificate. Mrs. Durkosh
had been involved with the Saint James full-day Kindergarten program
since it was started, and was the Kindergarten teacher for the past six
years. She is now sharing her passion for math as our 1st through 3rd
grade math teacher. She also serves as a case manager for the SAP team.
Mr. David Drake - Physical Education/Health
Mr. Drake is the Physical Education teacher for grades K-8. He will also be teaching health to our students in grades 1-3. He currently teaches part time at Ss. Peter and Paul School in Beaver and formerly taught at Mt. Gallitzin Academy
Mrs. Kathleen Green - 5th Grade
Mrs. Green comes to us from Erie, Pa with a wealth of experience in teaching students in grades 4, 5, and 6. She will be teaching Math to our students in grades 4 and 5; and Language Arts to our students our students in grades 4 and 5.

SJS faculty since 1987:
Mrs. Fiedler is a parishioner at Holy Trinity in Robinson Township. She
is a graduate of The Franciscan University of Steubenville with a BS in
Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. She has taught
at St. James since 1987, serving as Special Needs Coordinator and
ESAP/SAP Coordinator and team member. Currently she holds an advanced
Diocesan Catechist certificate and a DASH (Developmental Approaches to
Science and Health) teacher certificate. Previously, she taught for 20
years as an adult pre-baptism educator at St Joseph in Coraopolis.
On a personal note, Mrs. Fiedler has been married for 39 years to her
husband, Eric. They have been catechists together since their wedding
engagement. Three of their four children graduated from St. James. They
have two grandchildren.
SJS faculty since 2008:
Mrs. Marroni is the Computer teacher for grades K- 8. She earned her B.S. Degree in Elementary Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Marroni has taught the Computer Science curriculum for the past 12 years in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. She also teaches at Assumption School in Bellevue. Mrs. Marroni lives in Wexford with her husband and two daughters.
Mrs. Marlene McNally- K - 4 Spanish

SJS faculty since 2006:
Mrs. McNally earned her B. A. Degree in Elementary Education at the
University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. Her experience includes one
year in the public school system followed by six years in the Catholic
Schools of the Houston-Galveston Diocese. For thirteen years, Mrs.
McNally made the decision to stay home with her children during the day
while tutoring students in the evenings. After a move to Pittsburgh
with her family, Mrs. McNally worked as a substitute teacher for
several Catholic schools in the diocese and came on board at St. James
School during the 2006-07 school year. As members of St. James Parish,
the McNally family enjoys helping out in various ministries and
activities. Mrs. McNally looks forward to growing in faith with her
students.

Mrs. Olson has been teaching at St. James School since 2003. She is a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor in Science in Elementary Education. She is currently working on her Masters Degree in Special Education at Carlow University. Mrs. Olson has taught 4 years in second grade and 2 years in fourth grade. She is also the special needs coordinator at the school. Mrs. Olson chose to teach at St. James School because she believes that teaching religion is vital in a child’s life and she enjoys working at a small school.
Mrs. Olson's Educational Philosophy: "I believe that children should be taught in an open environment with cooperative learning. I believe in evaluating by tests, projects, performance assessments, writing stories, readers’ theater, and authentic learning."
Mrs. Olson also teaches private piano instruction.
Sheila O'Sullivan- Art
Mrs. O'Sullivan joined St. James staff in 2009. She shares her time and talent at St. John of the God and the Gilmary Center. Mrs. O'Sullivan comes to St. James with an Associates degree in Art and a wealth of experience in teaching children art.

SJS faculty since 1996:
Mrs. Reilsono graduated from Point Park College in 1990 and immediately
began her teaching career at St. Cyril of Alexandria in the North Side.
In 1996, she came to St. James. In addition to her focus on middle
school science, she also works with the after school program and is a
Brownie Leader. On a personal note, she had been married since 1998 to
Claudio Reilsono and they have one daughter: Ida.
Jeanne Riley is a graduate of Duquesne University with a
B. A. in Sociology and a MS Ed in Elementary Education. She taught Fifth
Grade for 8 years in the Cannon McMillan School District. She was the
Director of Friendship Nursery School in Sewickley for 3 years. She is
currently in my 10th year of teaching at St. James School. She taught 1
year of Kindergarten, 6 years of First Grade, one year as Principal and one year of Third
Grade.
She is a recipient of The Golden Apple Award from the Diocese of
Pittsburgh.

She graduated from the State
University of New York and has taught in the Diocese since 1996 while
also volunteering with the Tri-County Choir Institute of Beaver County.
We will share her with Our Lady of Fatima in Hopewell, where she
teaches three days per week. What do other principals say about her?

Mrs. Karen Scully - Grade 8
Mrs. Scully comes to us from Ss. Simon and Jude School in Greentree. She is teaching Language Arts to our students in grades 6, 7, and 8.
Mrs. Debbie
Sexton has been a teacher for seventeen years. She has taught at St.
Bonaventure in Glenshaw, St. Margaret Mary in Lower Burrell, and is
currently teaching math at St. James to our fourth through eighth
graders. She has a B. S. in Elementary Education from Duquesne
University and is certified in Middle School Mathematics. Math is her
favorite subject to teach and Mrs. Sexton has even spent part of her
summers working as a Math Assessor for the National Board for
Professional Teaching Standards. She is a member of St. James Parish
and is an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist both in the church
and at Sewickley Valley Hospital. She is most proud of being the mother
of six children, all of whom are graduates of St. James School!
Mrs. Toni Wojtkowski, a member of Our Lady of
Peace Church in Conway, is a graduate of Edinboro University with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Spanish minor.
She received her permanent teaching certification from Penn State
University and also has Jr. High Social Studies certification. Her
experience includes teaching in Texas, Alabama, and Pennsylvania in
both private and public schools. Mrs. Wojtkowski has a daughter and a
son and two grandchildren who keep her smiling. She was awarded the
honor of Who's Who Among American Teachers in 2005-2006 and in
2006-2007. The faculty and students are a very important part of her
life and she has many special memories of her years at St. James.
